Project Spark 2023: Nanlite's Filmmaking Contest!

Project Spark 2023: Nanlite's Filmmaking Contest!

Posted by Sam Mallery on Mar 7th 2023

Want to win $20,000 in cash and $7,000 in video-production gear from Nanlite, Nanlux, Rode, Atomos, Artlist, and DZOFilm? This is what we're awarding in the Project Spark contest, but we're actually giving away four of these prizes in four separate categories: Best Narrative Short, Best Documentary Short, Best Commercial Short, and Best Experimental Short. Plus, another of these prizes will be awarded as "The Spark." That's $135,000 in total. It's time to hop into pre-production mode so you can have your entry submitted by May 31st, 2023!

The Assignment: Create a Video on the Theme of Reflection

Since this contest is being held by Nanlite and Nanlux (the other four brands are co-sponsors), we've decided upon the theme of reflection. Light is always traveling, and when it runs into a surface, it reflects and continues its journey. Different kinds of surfaces make the light reflect in different ways. Think of this as a loose theme that's open to interpretation, but it's something we'll be looking for in the submissions.

Don't think you need to have an immaculately lit and produced video in order to win. This contest is open to all creators, worldwide. Whether you have trucks filled with equipment or just a cheap smartphone camera, we are looking for submissions that make us feel something. It's not about your gear, it's about your spark.
