Nanlite wand: A Handy Light for Any Moment
LED tube lights, like our PavoTube series, are amazing tools for creating striking visuals, but sometimes you want a tube-like light source with a different set of capabilities, which is why we're introducing the new Nanlite wand.

The wand form factor is popular among photographers and video creators because it has a handle, making it easy to grab and position, and it provides decent brightness despite its slender and portable size.
What's the difference between the wand and PavoTube?
- LED Tube lights are cylindrical, and the wand is squared off.
- PavoTubes have built-in rechargeable batteries, the wand gets power from swappable NP-F batteries.
- The wand comes with removable barndoors, while barndoors are a separate purchase for PavoTubes.

The Nanlite wand is 19.39 inches long (49.25 cm), 2.19 inches wide (5.57 cm) and 1.48 inches deep (3.75 cm). It weighs just 0.93 lbs (0.42kg), but the weight will increase when a battery is attached. It provides a CCT range of 2700K-7500K with ±150 G/M adjustment, and 36,000 different colors from its Nebula C4 Light Engine.
The back of the wand features a single NP-F battery plate. Batteries are sold separately, like the Nanlite BT-NPF750 and the BT-NPF970. Both of those batteries are the same Mint Blue color as the Nanlite wand. If you pick up a pair of those batteries, consider also grabbing a Nanlite BT-CG-NPF-2 Dual Charger. Having more than one battery is advisable, as swapping them is very useful when you shoot. The dual charger is also Mint Blue. Nanlite wand is also available in the darker Midnight Blue color.

A USB-C port on the back of the wand lets you power it with AC or an external power bank battery. There is also a circular display on the back that shows the settings in color, along with control buttons and a dial. It's easy to use with these built-in controls, and you can easily pair it with your mobile device and control it via Bluetooth. The free Nanlink mobile app has special versions for iPhone, iPad, Android, and Android tablets.

The bottom of the integrated handle on the wand has a 1/4"-20 receiver so you can mount it to stands, tripods, and other rigging equipment. The included barndoors, which can be adjusted to prevent the light from spilling on nearby objects and surfaces, are removable. A removable diffuser is included as well to soften the light. An attractive padded carrying bag that holds everything is included as well.
Whether you're shooting portraits, cinematic videos, light painting, or some other creative endeavor, the Nanlite wand is a truly handy light to have around. It's lightweight, easy to travel with, and fun to use either handheld or on stands.
