Nanlite FC-1200C & FC-1200B: All-In-One Powerhouses

There are times when you need the light that supplies the most output possible, and with our introduction of the FC-1200C and FC-1200B LED Spotlights, we have two new formidable contenders in this category. With a rated power of 1350 watts, they deliver the brightest performance of any Nanlite fixtures that have come before, and they're available at remarkably budget-friendly prices considering what they can do, and their high quality.

As the model names imply, the FC-1200C is a full-color spotlight, and the FC-1200B is bi-color. Both are the same size, with the FC-1200C weighing just a smidge more at 22.3 pounds (10.13 kg) compared to the FC-1200B's 22.1 pounds (10 kg). The power supply for these lights weighs nothing because they do not exist. They are both all-in-one fixtures, which means you just plug the light head directly into a standard AC outlet. It's one less thing to carry around, set up, and tear down.

How Powerful are the Nanlite FC-1200C and FC-1200B?

Using the included 45° reflector at 5600K, the FC-1200C delivers 14220 lux 1321 fc at a distance of 9.8 feet (3M), and the FC-1200B delivers a bit more at 15620 lux 1451 fc. You can dial in precise brightness with 0.1% dimming, and Smart Fan modes are provided for sound-sensitive sets.

1200 watts of output is new for Nanlite, but what isn't unusual is the standard Bowens Mount on both of these lights. This gives them the widest range of compatibility with modifiers from other companies, as well as with Nanlite's own line of light shapers, from the FL-20G Fresnel to the Rapid 120 softbox, and many more. Umbrella mounts are provided as well.

Wired and Wireless Control for the FC-1200C and FC-1200B 

Control is provided by a built-in 2.4-inch screen, two buttons and two knobs. Bluetooth is present for use with the free Nanlink mobile app for iPhone, iPad, Android, and Android tablets. NFC is provided for quick pairing and to share DMX settings. Dedicated 5-pin XLR inputs and outputs handle DMX/RDM.

Because of the larger stature of these lights, the base of the yoke attaches to junior pin stands. The yoke provides 360° of rotation and both sides have locking mechanisms to ensure that it stays in place. An eye bolt is provided on the yoke for attaching a safety cable.

The FC-1200C features the Nebula C4 Light Engine, an RGBW source that enables its 2,400K-12,000K CCT range with ±150 of green-to-magenta adjustment. It also has HSI, RGBW, 15 Effects and Gel modes, with 460 gel presets from LEE and Rosco. The FC-1200B has a CCT range of 2,700K-6,500K with 12 effects.

A latching, hard-foam case is included for storage and travel, and it holds the light, included reflector, and the lengthy 24.5' (7.5m) power cable. If you prefer a rolling case, the CC-ST-FC1200 case is available separately, and it features padding and a retractable handle.
