The New Nanlite miro 60c & 30c Round LED Panels
When you’re making content on-the-go or shooting in tight spaces, it’s best to have compact lights that you can set up and use quickly. But, what many people fail to consider is how much output these kinds of lights provide, and they end up with underpowered lighting. The solution is the Nanlite miro 60c and 30c LED panels. They're excellent, ultra-portable lights for content creation, and they provide an unusually large amount of output for their compact size.
The first thing you notice about the miro lights is the round shape. This creates attractive, circular catchlights in your subject's eyes. It also makes them more aesthetically pleasing, which means they look great when used in your shots, and they're handsome additions to podcasting and live streaming studios and workstations.
The miro 60c weighs only 1.63 lbs (0.74 kg), and size-wise, it's only 1.33 inches deep (3.37 cm) with a diameter less than 9 inches (23 cm). It can easily fit into a backpack that's already holding a laptop and many other items. Even though it's ultra-portable, the miro 60C can crank out 8382 lux (779 fc) at 1 meter 5600K. miro 30c is about half the size and weight of the 60C, and it outputs 4854 lux (451 fc) at the same distance and settings.
If you've ever used a Nanlite wand or pico, then you already know how to use a miro. These lights all have the same circular display that shows the current settings in color, two buttons and a dial. The controls make it easy to quickly dial in the look you want. You can also easily pair these lights with your phone via Bluetooth and control them wirelessly with the free Nanlink mobile app for iPhone, iPad, Android, and Android tablets.
You can achieve any kind of look you want with the miro lights. They let you dial in warm or cool white light with their CCT range of 2700K-7500K with ±150 of green-to-magenta adjustment. There are also 36,000 different colors, thanks to their Nebula C4 Light Engines. There are 14 effects, like Lightning and Police Car, and you can modify them and save them as presets in the Nanlink app.
The miro panels have stepped yokes, which let you choose the angle you want, and they remain in that position without moving. The base of the yoke is a standard 5/8" receiver, which makes them compatible with regular light stands like the Nanlite LS-210-5/8 and and small desktop stands like the Nanlite AS-MT/HG-1/4 Mini Tripod Stand. You power the miro lights with external NP-F batteries, like the Nanlite BT-NPF750 and the BT-NPF970, which have the same Mint Blue color as the miros, which are also available in the darker Midnight Blue color. It's advisable to purhcase more than one battery, so you can swap it out if needed. Also consider getting a Nanlite BT-CG-NPF-2 Dual Charger to easily charge two NP-F batteries at once.
The miros also come with a USB-C cable. You can connect this cable to a charging block (sold separately) and power the lights continuously with a standard AC output. The USB-C port on these lights is also compatible with PD power bank batteries. If you have a PD3.0 compatible battery, you can even attach it to the battery plate on the back of the miro lights with the separately available Power Bank Holder for NP-F Mount accessory.
Magnetic attachment points on the front of the miro lights let you easily add the included diffuser. When attached, it softens the light, and when detached, the light is harder and a little bit brighter. A cute padded carrying case is also included. These lights are sold individually, and you can also get the miro 60c in a 2-kit or the miro 30c in a 2-kit.
The Nanlite miro LED panels are easy to carry around, and easy to set up and use. Visually, they look great when they're in your shot, or when they're used off camera.
