Nanlite FC-720C & FC-720B: Power in Your Budget
Today we introduce two new high-power LED spotlights: the Nanlite FC-720C and the FC-720B. Both models offer incredible output at truly budget friendly prices that put them within reach for a wide range of creators.
With a rated power of 750-watts, the full-color FC-720C delivers 5040 lux (468 fc) 5600K at 9.84' (3M), and the bi-color FC-720B outputs 5680 lux (528 fc). The FC-720C has an ultra-wide CCT range of 2400K–12000K with ±150 G/M adjustment, and the FC-720B provides a CCT range of 2700K–6500K.
Both lights come with 45° reflectors, power supplies, quick-release clamps, head cables and power cables, and a latching, hard-foam case that holds everything. They run continuously plugged into standard AC outlets.
You can use a wide range of modifiers with these lights, like the FL-20G Fresnel Lens and the 25°-45° Projection Attachment, because they have the nearly universal Bowens Mount. They also have integrated umbrella mounts, so you have even more ways to soften the light.
Like all Nanlite products, the light from these fixtures is highly accurate. The FC-720C has SSI scores of 3200K: 84 and 5600K: 71, and CRI/TLCI ratings of Avg 95/Avg 94. The FC-720B scores a little higher with SSI scores of 3200K: 84 and 5600K: 74, and CRI/TLCI ratings of Avg 96/Avg 98. No matter what, you can have confidence that your colors will look natural.
What's the difference between the FC-720C & FC-720B?
Because the FC-720C is full-color and the FC-720B is bi-color, there are some key differences between the two. These lights have different COB light sources, and in terms of output power and accuracy, the FC-720B comes out ahead. Concerning lighting modes, the FC-720B has two: CCT and Effects.
The FC-720C, on the other hand, has five lighting modes: CCT, Effects, HSI, RGBW, and Gel mode, which features 460 presets from LEE and Rosco. RGBW mode lets you control the Red, Greem, Blue, and White LEDs individually. The previously mentioned wider CCT range with G/M adjustment is another difference between the two.
Both models feature durable, metal yokes with a single-sided stepless lock. Control is provided by the onboard screen, buttons, and knobs. Bluetooth is there for wireless control with the free Nanlink app for iPhone, iPad, Android, and Android tablets. NFC allows you to quickly pair, and DMX/RDM is supported with full-size 5-pin XLR ports.
It should be noted that the new FC-720 lights are currently AC-powered only. The separately available FC PowerController is only compatible with the FC-300B, FC-500B, and FC-500C.
